About our Academic Lead

As a member of the EMAPS Admin team, I share in the responsibility of ensuring teachers and even the staff are working towards the common goal of providing opportunities to all our students to become successful, which is achieved through the improvement of instructional strategies. Our team’s work and main focus is to improve teaching and learning, albeit indirectly. The most powerful tool we have is our influence on our staff’s motivation, commitment, and development of a positive work environment.
As an Academic Support Lead, I provide and coordinate professional development and build teacher capacity in the areas of academic planning, data collection, gathering, and analysis. The instructional strategies, response to intervention, and the implementation of accommodations, and modifications that is provided to the teachers all enable students to become successful in all academic content standards.
As Special Education Coordinator/AES Site Coordinator, I collaborate with teachers and related service providers in the delivery of special education services to all students assigned to our program.
As School Test Coordinator, I provide support in the administration and implementation of all district and statewide assessments, including the preparation before and the follow-up after testing windows.
As a Student Learning Objective Ambassador, I support colleagues in crafting and monitoring their SLO for the school year. Alongside professional support, I provided SLO workshops to communicate essential information about SLOs to instructional staff. Moreover, I offer support to teachers during the entire course of the SLO window.
